Determining the Permeability and Handle Properties of Wool, Yak and Cashmere Hand-knitted Fabrics

Luxury fibers are used for their tactile properties, comfortable feeling the users, and sometimes status in society. These all protein-based have always been compared to properties of wool. Cashmere is known its incredibly soft warm yet lightweight breathable qualities, making it a must-have fabric any fall winter closet. Besides labored time-wasting cashmere production makes fiber very expensive. Yak an alternative expensive with similar which costs only quarter cashmere. In this study, air water vapor permeability important consumer comfort were investigated addition handle fabrics made wool fibers. It was found that yarns easy spin fine yarn counts whereas yak coarsest. Hand-knitted had softest even if produced technical specifications.
